We follow safer recruitment principles to ensure that all staff and volunteers are suitable to work with children, young people, and vulnerable adults. This includes:
- Clear Communication: Clearly communicating our commitment to safeguarding on all job advertisements and role descriptions to deter unsuitable applicants.
- Thorough Selection Process: Conducting rigorous interviews, reference checks, DBS’ to reject unsuitable applicants.
- Ongoing Monitoring: Regularly reviewing and updating our recruitment processes to prevent any opportunities for abuse once individuals are appointed.
- Training and Awareness: We provide comprehensive safeguarding training to all staff and volunteers to ensure they understand their responsibilities and can recognize and respond to signs of abuse.
- Reporting and Responding: We have clear procedures for reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns. All concerns are taken seriously and handled promptly and appropriately.
- Continuous Improvement: We regularly review our safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and up-to-date. We welcome feedback and are committed to continuous improvement.
